Bailey wins AL ROY
Oakland Athletics closer Andrew Bailey has been named the American League’s Rookie of the Year.
Bailey was on the phone talking to someone when he had another call and switched over to it, thinking it was his mom.
Instead, the person on the other end of the phone was informing Bailey he was just named AL ROY.
Bailey said he thought it had to be one of his friends trying to play some type of prank on him.
Bailey beat out Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus and Detroit Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello to win the award.
